Newborn sessions are suitable between the ages of 0-12 weeks old. It is not essential for newborns to be under the age of 3 weeks old as it is for some photographers, as I do not always pose babies and so have no need for them to be in that very sleepy, malleable state. Sessions are baby led so if we need to stop photographing so that baby can have a feed then that is what we will do & resume only when baby is ready. Babies only need to be in a white vest for their photos and sometimes just a nappy. I have a small collection of wraps, blankets and props. 

I am crazy for family photos and I have them included in all my packages because life is too short and there are way too many changes! Why not capture them for your children?

They deserve to see how you all looked once and how much you all changed over time.

They deserve to see the loving look on your faces while holding them in your arms.

They deserve to see the happiness they bring to you!

Posed newborn sessions are best advised to take place up to 14 days old, as they still have the sleepy ‘newborn look’ and are easier to pose comfortably, as their body is still used to being snuggled up in your womb. 

However, I tend to opt for more natural poses which accommodates babies 12 weeks and under.

I recommend booking in your newborn session after your 12 weeks scan to avoid disappointment, as I only book a specific amount of newborns per month to give parents the flexibility with their session date. (As babies rarely arrive on their due date.)

You book your newborn session for the month baby is due, and the date is decided once baby arrives.
